Red Dead Redemption 2 (Trailer Analysis)

This is a good selling point, because we can see two characters talking about their past and what they need to do, to ensure victory. We also get introduced to the main characters, this is crucial. Which was shown at the beginning to show significance.

In this shot we can actually see the main characters. We can see that by their facial expressions and body language that they are discussing a serious matter that may or may not effect their lives.

Here we can see the main characters on horses. This is the games main establishing point, as we know that this game is set in the western times. This is a great selling point, due to the fact that many people may like western old style games, like red dead redemption 2.

After we get introduced to the horses and main characters, we see "Rockstar Games Presents". This could grab peoples and/or audiences attention as rockstar games is a famously known gaming company who have made famous games such as, the Grand Theft Auto sequence.

This shot shows the main characters on horses next to a train, on a mission. The background is misty and nature like. This may be a good selling point as it shows adventure and mystery even in a violent and action-packed game.

This is the first violent scene in the trailer. This shows the difference in themes and genre within the game, but also other people may prefer violent style games to adventure types. However, this game showcasing both themes violence and adventure which may grab more people attention.

This shot shows one of the main characters with a gun presumably aimed at someones head. This is easier to tell due to the low angle, giving him power over the current situation. This shot also may be eye catching to the viewers as they may get the option to kill the guy or let him live.

This screenshot shows how the main characters is either pointing at something or explaining something. This may be an interesting side to the audience as they will want to know what he is saying and describing, potentially encouraging the viewer to buy the game for that reason.

This is rockstars main selling point. They previously showed who made the game in the trailer. Now they are telling the viewers the title of the game that they have just seen. Also the font on the text is in the theme of western, the colours are also dark themed and not so bright, which is why this part of 

This part of the trailer shows that the main characters have just retrieved what they set out to get. The shot with the horses next to the train may be exciting and also intense to the viewers, as both the horses and the train are fast at moving.

This screenshot shows that even while violence and chaos is going on, family and friends enjoying life can still happen and people are trying to live a normal life, although war is taking place.

This screenshot could be exciting to the audience and fans as they can expect violence and action when they get the game. 

This shot shows a character inside a bank with a gun in his hands. This is another good selling point, as we know that in the game you will have the chance to rob a bank. People may enjoy doing this even though its not right, it gives an adrenalin rush.

In this screenshot we can see a huge bear. This is a great selling point as the game isnt just based on violence, chaos and war with humans, but also the nature side of life is involved with the game as well.

Here we can see a line of men riding horses into battle, This is different to the other parts in the trailer as this is the first all out battle between two different groups.

This is the best selling point, as the viewers who would have watched this whole trailer can now see when the game will be released, what platforms it will be released on, who made the game and the age rating made for the game. This also gives an insight to the people who want to buy the game, to whether they can get it and the general information they need.

Why my pen portrait typical audience member is going to enjoy Hellblade

The typical target audience member shown in my pen portrait would like Hellblade, as he enjoys the aspects of adventure and action style games. Hellblade expands on action and adventure into depth, as it shows Senua's life in adventure, with parts of action involved. His lifestyle/background suggests that this game would suit him, because he enjoys playing tomb raider and GTA. Although this isn't as violent and offensive compared to GTA, but it has action style parts and adventure scenes similarly seen in tomb raider. He would find out about the game through friends outside of work, but he would also find out from clients in game (his job).

What aspects of Hellblade the target audience is going to like best

The target audience of Hellblade will like the dark and intense atmosphere, alongside the deep truth about Senua's life. This is because, each game has to have something unique in order to have a good selling point. The dark, twisted truth about Senua's past and present haunts her and potentially the people playing the game. People who may enjoy action-packed games may want to play this game, even though they might not like story style games, they might play the game for the action scenes. The target audience may also like the mise-en-scene within the game: The location, costume, props, lighting, etc. The dark lighting creates suspense and intensity, the costume shows that the game was set in medieval times and the props such as swords create action and drama all included in Hellblade.

Hellblade could be influenced by friends, people at work and possibly celebrities who have played the game. There overall thoughts, opinions and review of the game could influence people to get the game. Through social media, adverts of the game could pop up and the look may encourage you to want to play Hellblade, They could see trailers and gameplay on YouTube, which is another good influence but they could also be influenced if they have played other games from the creators, Ninja Theory. Also, people who have mental health, such as depression or psychosis may understand how Senua feels and acts. This is a huge influence, as not many people have played anything similar to hellblade. This also gives Ninja Theory a higher amount of downloads.
